SILVER SHOES

Mid Ear Records is pleased to announce the debut album from Texas duo Silver Shoes. The self-titled CD contains seven original songs from unabashed country rock to a heart-wrenching ballad, along with five cover songs. The covers represent the many songwriters that have shaped and influenced their music through the years.

Silver Shoes is Maureen Finlon and John Finnigan. They have been performing throughout Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado blending the Anglo-Hispanic influences of the American southwest. Their neo-traditional approach is actually not of any one genre but instinctively combines country, rock, folk and pop with vocals that shine clear and pure.

SILVER SHOES was recorded in Houston, San Antonio, Santa Fe and Chicago, and was mixed by Mike Poole in Nashville. The duo produced and arranged the music with guitarist Heli Martinez. Additional musicians bring a southwestern flavor with mandolin, pedal steel guitar, dobro, fiddle, trumpet, acordeon, bass and percussion.

Maureen and John co-wrote the haunting love song "What We Don't Have" and "The Ballad of Clay Hardin" a tale of the old west with Texas songwriter Shake Russell. Shake is also featured as guest vocalist on the tracks. The solid driving "You and Me" is a favorite at their live performances.

Two of the covers included on the CD are The Beatles "Any Time At All" and "Do You Know How It Feels To Be Lonesome" by country rock legend Gram Parsons.
