OLD FRIEND

SILVER SHOES are back with a new acoustic-electric album on Mid Ear Records, their Texas based independent label, an appropriate home for these Illinois born - Texas browned singer-songwriters who have been creating their own unique blend of folk-rock and alt-country.

SILVER SHOES, Maureen Finlon and John Finnigan have assembled an amalgam of diverse musicians, many of whom are legendary pickers that have been influencing musical trends for over three decades. Featured on this sixteen-song set are alumnus from pioneering bands like The Dillards, The Flying Burrito Brothers and Emmylou Harris' Hot Band, who brought their authentic feel to this music.

Under the guidance of co-producers Jack Saunders and Don Richmond "Old Friend" evolved into a spontaneous sounding album. There were no rehearsals, SILVER SHOES provided bare bones charts and just rolled the tape. The result has given great players the freedom to be themselves and create great music.

With the release of "Old Friend" SILVER SHOES mixes the honest and aesthetic with a nod toward the nostalgic to continue their journey into another chapter of American Roots Music.
