Ah yes, I remember it well; John was laying on the somewhat overly colorful old carpet in my studio moaning in pain from some unidentified abdominal disturbance while we were all plunging ahead laying down tracks on a collection of wonderfully diverse songs that he and Maureen had chosen for their new CD. We were going with our gut feeling (ha ha) laying down tracks on the first instrument that popped into our heads, making free and carefree choices in that faith we all must have that the creative muse would guide us to some worthwhile destination.

And so it did. We were kids in a sandbox, having a great time. John must have subconsciously volunteered to channel and absorb any potential bad mojo for the sessions, because we got an incredible amount of work done in a very short period of time, and the tracks have been a whole lot of fun to listen to in the time since the initial sessions. And now these tracks, along with Silver Shoes, have been on their own odyssey, rubbing up against folks like Chris Ethridge, Byron Berline, and Jack Saunders. I'm sure that the joy and good energy we felt creating  them will continue to shine through to any and all who listen, and that Silver Shoes will give these tunes a great ride out into the world, Hallelujah! Spread the word...

One day, John and Maureen showed up at my door step in Houston with tapes of music they'd started recording in Colorado with Don Richmond. Very cool stuff! I was instantly charmed by them and their music. Soon we were pulling out Gibsons, Martins, and Nationals, taking their music on a long journey that was as rewarding as the destination. Now, here it is, and it's your turn to experience our journey and take this music on destinations of your own! Put on your SILVER SHOES... Happy traveling!!
